Pretty cool being able to volunteer at the JC Raulston Arboretum this semester. I believe that helping out in the garden is a great way to make a positive impact on the community, and it’s a great way to clear the mind and physically and mentally get away from the pool. When I get caught up in hard training it’s sometimes easy to forget that life isn’t just about performing in the pool, life has so much more to offer and I believe that a change of environment can give me the fulfillment that will eventually benefit me in the long run. And being outside and learning about plants is honestly nice.
